osé Luis Cubillo Fernández es madrileño. Su trabajo como guionista, director de fotografía y director se centra en la producción y realización de guiones para cine documental y experimental. Como escritor, llegó al cine de forma natural a través de su amor por la literatura.
Su más reciente colección de relatos de su libro «Y si no está aquí, ¿dónde está?» han sido publicados en revistas literarias de España, Estados Unidos, México, Colombia, Venezuela y Argentina.
Como guionista, «Nijinsky. Matrimonio con Dios», una biografía del gran bailarín ruso Vatzlav Nijinsky, ganó el premio a la Mejor Idea Original en el festival Global Motion Picture Awards (EEUU) en 2018. Y como director, su «Película al estilo de Jafar Panahi» rinde homenaje al director iraní Jafar Panahi y su película «Esto no es una película».

osé Luis Cubillo Fernández is from Madrid, Spain. His work as writer, cinematographer, and director focuses on production and screen plays for documentary and experimental film. As a writer, he naturally came to cinema through his love of literature.
His most recent collection of stories from his book “¿Y si no está aquí, dónde está?” (And If It’s Not Here, Where Is It?) have been published in literary journals in Spain, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and Argentina.
As a screenwriter, José’s “Nijinsky. Marriage with God”, a biography of the great Russian dancer Vatzlav Nijinsky, won Best Original Idea at the Global Motion Picture Awards (USA) festival in 2018.
And as director, his “Film in the style of Jafar Panahi” pays tribute to Iranian director Jafar Panahi and his film “This is not a movie.”
