op Cop Kills explores both the political and amorous struggles in a Boston suburb.  It is a bit like “Spotlight,” both in its city setting and in its probing a flawed system—and there is some allusion to the Marathon Bombers’ shootout which took place in the town and put it on the map.
Bankruptcy threatens and the political circle that has served this town before starts to crumble.
Meanwhile, the town’s immigrant, multi-ethnic flavor gives way to gentrification.  From eras when most of the residents who lived there worked there, it is turning into a bedroom community.  Top Cop Kills is about change, about public service, about personal rivalry and revenge, about differences in class, gender, and ethnicity and about how town governments must answer to law, to voting tax-payers, and also to strong, opposing personalities.
It is a novel that is socially and politically aware and concerned with the challenges of democracy in our nation today.

Top Cop Kills is forthcoming in the Spring of 2025.
