Searle is also the playwright of the theater work Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera, and author of six previous books of fiction, including The Drama Room, a 2025 Finalist for the Kirkus Indie Book Award and A Four-Sided Bed, a Boston Globe paperback bestseller in development for film.

   Searle co-wrote the feature film I’ll Show You Mine (Duplass Brothers, 2023) which was well-reviewed in the New York Times and more and is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime, Peacock and more. Her film and rock opera have both drawn national media.
