Rearticulation

Small_Orange_View_Book

Rearticulation explores the visceral intersections of life, death, and the natural world.

Through the lens of an archaeologist’s perspective, the poems examine the process of unearthing secrets from both the soil and the human heart.

Themes of grief and loss permeate the work, specifically through a series of “updates” addressed to a deceased partner and reflections on family members.

Stelse utilizes haunting imagery of insects, animals, and decay to illustrate the persistence of memory and the physical reality of the body as her verses navigate the transformation of pain into a permanent artifact of existence.
